EVERYTHING IS BETTER
EVERYTHING IS BETTER
Fieldhead campsite is in the centre of Edale village at the foot of Kinder Scout and the start (or Southern end) of the Pennine way. Giving perfect access onto the fells for walkers and cyclists.
We are a small site around the back of the Peak District National Park Visitor Centre, which is a great place to find out about local places to visit and learn more about the National Park, or just speak to one of our members of staff in Reception. Please note we do NOT have electric hook ups and car parking is separate.
If walking and cycling is what your interested in, then we are the place for you. We are a quiet site that welcomes everyone that wants to experience the outdoors whether that be wild swimming, climbing, hill walking, mountain biking or just sitting outside reading a book to get away from it all.
There is limited signal and no wifi on site, so you can really escape from the hustle and bustle of outside world and holiday in peace.
Campsite Reception & Camping Fields
The campsite is located around the Moorland Visitor Centre in the centre of Edale. Please check in at reception when you arrive. Check in is from 2pm to 8pm. Reception is located along the footpath to the left of the Visitor Centre.
We have a small hard standing car park on the right hand side as you enter the site. Please note that there is no parking next to the pitches, however, we do have a few wheelbarrows to help you move your kit to your pitch (please ask at reception if needed). We do have very limited parking so please make sure your booking includes a car if you need a space. The pitch you have booked should say if it includes a vehicle or not but please get in touch if you have any queries.
Please note: NONE OF OUR PITCHES HAVE ELECTRIC. If your tent is 5 metres or over please make sure you add the large tent option to your booking, we have limited space on site so can only accommodate a few tents of this size. If you do not book this option we may not have space for your tent.
There are six small camping fields; Badgers Bottom and The Warren are located down by the river which are great for backpackers and small tents. The Croft, Woodpeckers Nest and Foxes Corner are better for families as they are closer to the facilities or the car park. The Hideaway is over a small footbridge and has our bell tent we hire to people who want more of a glamping experience.
